Razzaz launches "Overseas Investors Network" initiative
Amman, Aug. 8 (Petra)-
Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, on Thursday launched the "Overseas Investors Network" initiative at the Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) here.
The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Crown Prince Foundation and Beyond Capital, in coordination with the Jordanian Businessmen Council in the United Arab Emirates, aims to network entrepreneurs and business people.
Moreover, the initiative seeks to network Jordanian expatriate investors residing in several Arab and foreign countries, in an effort to launch a series of entrepreneurial projects, to enter into strategic partnerships, and to provide financial and technical support to entrepreneurs.
In remarks during the launching ceremony, Razzaz stressed the importance of this initiative, which kicks off partnership between Jordanian creative youth who have established startups in various health, education, production, drones and various services sectors, with Jordanian investors wishing to invest in the Kingdom.
Highlighting the role of the Ministry of Digital Economy, he noted it has been renamed recently to serve its role in serving the digitized sectors, which are now using technology to deliver their services, in a way that contributes to reducing production costs and boosting marketing of Jordanian services in the region and the world to enhance their competitiveness".
On the future gov't steps to attract investments, he announced the government is mulling restructuring the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) to increase its ability to serve investors and facilitate their transactions to fend off procedural obstacles.
The government, he affirmed, is counting on the JIC and its new leadership to play a key role in promoting investment in Jordan at the regional level and the world.
