The Mayor of Irbid is considered the tip of the administrative pyramid in the organizational structure of the Municipality, and is assisted by the Assistant Mayor, who is authorized by the Board with part of the Mayor’s responsibilities and by the Director General of the Municipality, who is assisted by a number of deputies. These are the Administrative and Human Resources Affairs Assistant, the Engineering Affairs Assistant, the Planning Affairs Assistant, the Districts Affairs Assistant, the Financial Affairs Department Assistant. In addition, a number of departments are connected to the Municipality’s Director General. These are: the Legal Department, the Control and Search Department, the Environment Department , the   Healthy Affairs Department, and the Knowledge and Information Technology Department.
