NEPCO Responsibilities

1.        Planning, Construction, Development, Operation & Maintenance of the Electrical Transmission Grids.

2.        Management of the National Grid and the Process of Transmitting the Electric Power inside Jordan and to the Neighboring Countries.

3.        Purchase Energy from Various Sources and Sell this energy.

4.        Import and Export of the Electric Power.

5.        To permit the licensed companies to generate electric power to utilize the transmission network.

6.        Purchase of natural gas from the seller and supplying it to the power generation companies.

NEPCO Objectives

1.        Construction, planning, development, operation, maintenance and management of the control systems, and the electric transmission and interconnection networks.

2.        Management of the processes of purchasing, transmitting, control and selling the electric power inside Jordan and to the neighboring countries and conducting the planning studies in this regard.

3.        Providing services, consultancy and studies related to the electric power to variant parties inside and outside Jordan.

4.        Setting the comprehensive quality system for all the company's activities and following up its implementation and developing it.

3.        Commercializing the electrical training center to serve the whole region.

4.        Developing the international consultation services and training activities, and transferring it to a profitable center.

7.        Developing the electrical load management to the best usage.

8.        Keeping the electrical system in a high stability level.

9.        Keeping the continuity of supply to all of the consumers according to the international standards.

10.    Constructing a regional control center for the purpose of electrical interconnection with other countries.

11.    Getting the electrical energy at the lowest prices with high quality.

12.    Developing the national transmission Grid and the interconnection Grids with other countries
