General Supplies Department
Organizational Chart

The General Supplies Department comprises of four main directorates:

1.        Purchasing Directorate: This directorate is concerned with purchasing supplies for Ministries and other government institutes and comprises four divisions which are:

a.        The Electronic Appliances Division

b.        The Medical Appliances Division

c.        The Mechanical Appliances Division

d.        The Office Appliances Division

 

2.        Directorate of Administration and Finance: This directorate is concerned with administrative and financial affairs at the Department and it comprises the following divisions:

a.        Registry

b.        Accounting and Securities Branch

c.        Information

d.        Personnel

 

3.        Directorate of Information and Administrative Development: This directorate is concerned with management, design and creating applied systems and purchasing the Department’s needs of equipment and software through the Purchasing Department and it comprises the following divisions:

a.        The Computer Division.

b.        The Studies and Administrative Development Division.

c.        The Central Register Division.

 

4.        Directorate of Central Warehouses: This directorate is concerned with the storage of supplies and it comprises the following divisions:

a.        The Central Warehouse Division

b.        The Supplies Supervision Division

Central Tenders Committee

The Committee is headed by the Director General of the General Supplies Department. Other members in the Committee include representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Controller of the Public Tenders Accounting Department, as well as two members from the Private Tenders Committee. The Committee is authorized to make decisions on tenders, re-invitation of tenders or cancellation. The Committee has full authority in purchase operations.
